Conversations with a 24-month old

It was Thursday morning, K was getting ready for work when Little Baby wanted him to carry her. He was topless.

N: Dada wear T-shirt.
K: Ok.  *proceeds to take the T-shirt which he wore while sleeping the night before*
N: No, not this one. Smelly. Take new one.
K: .........

With Peanut's birth came the SG50 government goodie bag. In it was a muslin cloth, a blanket of sorts. Little Baby took a liking to it and hugged it while walking around. She eventually wanted to hug it to sleep as well.

Me: Nadya it's warm. Let me keep the blanket, ok?
Me: *proceeds to pry/pull/take the item from her*
N: Mama, no! Don't pull! Don't touch! Cannot.
Me: .........

It was night, I was putting Little Baby to sleep when she heard the main door close. She thought it was K and wanted to go greet her Daddy. She got out of bed, and scampered outside the bedroom. She came back pretty quickly.

Me: Was that Dada?
N: No. Not Dada. Auntie Maryann (my helper) only.

Sometimes, I feel like I'm talking to a 3 or 4 year old.
