This new lady doc Joyce Tang was really nice and patient. Really appreciated her explanations to the various queries I had.
Had a nose/throat scope done again and that yucky numbing medicine sprayed down both of my nostrils and into my throat. Was talking funny after that hahha....
In gist....
- No nodules in the throat - good!
- No lesions in the throat - good!
- Vocal cords are ok - good!
- Lightheadness is not due to any inner-ear imbalance - good!
- Some "dirt" in the tonsils...which she said is probably due to past infections and can be ignored - good!
- Back of throat is slightly swollen, which is a sign of the acid reflux, but she assured me that this is a very common condition....and probably many people have it but they just don't know...
- Said acid reflux is very common in Singapore, probably due to our lifestyle and or local food...just need to manage it properly, make the appropriate lifestyle and diet adjustments and learn how to live with it...
Glad it went well...
On a sidenote, we were talking about G6PD and the nurse in attendance in the room happened to have it too...Same situation as me! Parents and older brother don't have it but we (as the younger sister) have it! Was so happy to have met someone who is like me...:)
