敢敢来

To what level should we be risk-averse and cover our asses during work?

When things are dynamic, there sometimes comes a situation which calls for flexibility and a certain amount of courage for a split-second’s decision to say “GO”.

I did that this morning. I didn’t ask for my boss’ clearance nor did I consult anyone. It wasn’t a life and death issue, just some small measure of risk. I made a quick assessment. I thought it was alright. I went ahead.

And then I get picked on by a senior manager. He didn’t make a big fuss or anything lah. But said it was risky and should not be done at all in case we get complaints.

Sigh.

Scared to do this, scared to do that. Then don’t do anything at all lor. -_-"
