Oddity

Autumn leaves of
Gold, brown and red in hue

Spiralling through the air
Sailing on carpets of wind
Denizens of Mother Nature

They fall
Ever so gracefully
From trees of age old descent
Onto the moss and lichen
Covered ground below

The adventurous ones float farther
And lay themselves
Onto gurgling streams
Riding mild torrents
Towards lands of yonder

Alas I stand there
Amidst the falling specks of gold
An ugly gash in the canvas of serenity
And hitherto I realised that
I am out of place
